The Sugar Land Ice Novice Hockey League is a recreational league for adult players over the age of 18 who are learning the basics of ice hockey while enjoying a fun fitness activity. Emphasis is placed on learning proper techniques of skating, puck-handling, and positioning. The format alternates weekly between games and practices culminating in seeded playoffs and a championship game. The winners of the championship will have their names permanently engraved on the Le’Sever Cup!
PRACTICE: The curriculum is designed to teach basic skating skills. Goals of this program are to teach good body position and body control, while introducing the concept of edges. Classes are one hour long with the assistance of certified USA Hockey Coaches.
GAMES: Played in a friendly competitive spirit with player-coaches helping teach the fundamentals during play. Higher skilled players are encouraged to allow beginners a chance to develop their skills while skating with the puck.
Classes are held on Sundays @ 4:15, 5:30 and 6:45PM
