CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
HOCKEY 1
The curriculum for the Hockey 1 program is designed to teach basic skating skills. Goals of this program are to teach good body position and body control, while introducing the concept of edges. Classes are 30 minutes in length on Sundays @ 12:00 pm and Thursdays @ 5:45 pm. Helmet and Facemask Required (we do not supply equipment). Cost: $190.00 (10 Weeks)
HOCKEY 2, 3, 4/5
These classes build on the skills learned in hockey 1. As skaters progress, the skills are increase in difficulty. Techniques covered include stick handling, skating, edges, shooting, passing. Cross-Ice games are incorporated to allow players to practice the skills they learn each week. Full Equipment Required (we do not supply equipment). Cost: $215.00 (10 Weeks)
MIGHTY MITES
For players 7 and under. Skills are taught using games and drills set by the Hockey Academy and USA Hockey Mite Initiation Program. Included are skills such as balance, stops, starts, backwards/forwards, and edge work. Cross-Ice games are also incorporated. Full Equipment Required (we do not supply equipment) Cost: $170.00 (10 Weeks)

Before you go pro, you first have to learn the basics. The Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center's Hockey Classes are designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey beginning with the basics of skating all the way up to game skills such as stick handling, passing, and shooting - so you'll be on the scoreboard in no time. All participants who are enrolled in the Academy receive public sessions for only $4.50 per session. Skate rental is included and students receive a 10% discount in our pro shop!
